He struck off the first ball in Nagpur and bowled a thrilling burst of short-pitched bowling that softened Warner while criticizing his method.
Due to his skittish nature, Shami has barely left the stumps at the other end, forcing batters to play ball after ball. With all spin hazards in between, this, in addition to his ability to swing the new ball as well as the old ball and mop up the tail, has worked flawlessly. Additionally, Indian fast bowlers have defeated traveling bowlers in the past. In fact, there have been times when they have outplayed the spinners, as shown by their annual average of 21.52 runs to wicket versus 20.21 for the spinners.
